Selena is joining Optometry Corner as the principal coordinator for our Myopia Management Program. When children spend a significant amount of time indoors focusing on digital screens, myopia (also called near-sightedness) worsens and vision becomes more blurry seeing far away. Myopia is rapidly progressing in the children population due to increased screen time. As the mother of a young daughter, she understands the importance of developing healthy eyecare and vision habits in children. Selena is passionate about helping patients reduce myopia with orthokeratology lenses, soft multifocal contact lenses, and atropine eye drops - so patients can preserve healthy eyes and clear vision for life!

Vanessa enjoys helping patients with their eye care needs. As part of the administrative team at Optometry Corner, she helps schedule appointments, answer questions, and verify insurance benefits for our patients. Vanessa recently graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a Bachelor's Degree. She enjoys spending time with her husband and their (almost) 2 year old son.

I am an undergraduate student, studying Biological Sciences, B.S. at UCI. I joined the Optometry Corner team as an optometric technician, in hopes to explore the field of optometry and expand my knowledge about the eye. I enjoy encountering different patients and familiarizing myself with different instruments. I also appreciate having the opportunity to shadow and get an insight on how valuable the doctor-patient relationship is in optometry. Since working here, I have become more motivated to pursue my career as an optometrist and I feel excited to apply to optometry school next year.

Jacob is excited to be a part of Optometry Corner. He is currently pursing his Bachelor’s degree in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology from UCLA.
